White Scou Car : oil seal replacement

Post by BenM3A1 » Fri Nov 03, 2017 7:05 am

Gents,
I have a technical question.
I need to replace the oil seal from the front axle of my M3A1 scout car.
I'm referring to the oil seal in the exit of the front axle ( connection propellor shaft towards the transfer case)

Just wandering if i could use the oil seal from a GMC CCKW (split )front axle as a replacement ?
are there replacement part numbers for the oil seals available "somewhere" ?

...any advice is welcome...

Thanks in advance

kind regards, out of Belgium
Benny

SKF 13738. Should be able to get one at a bearing distributor.

OK Thanks !
I assume the rear axle uses the same ?
I'm lucky, as there is a SKF dealer close to me ... :D

Do you also have SFK replacement par numbers for the other oil seals available ?
( - 3 oil seals for the transfer case and the one for the transmission )

kind regards,
Benny

The modern seals are usually thinner. Sometimes two will fit where one original was. That is good especially for the lower transfer case seals that are always submerged in oil.
