Re: M2 A1 scout car build starts
Well, when no one would sell me M3 headlight mounts , so I made them. I know the m2 did not use these, but it did have king bee street rod style lights when it was prototyped, so war department warrents these

Not bad for our new parts chaser should turn a head or two with our home made 30cals. Just gonna be a conversation piece, also show our handy work. So we don't have to always show pictures

Made the d ring, and shovel mount, cut a modern shovel at the neck and reformed the head to get the 40s look, also added a 1930s all wood handle , axe mount tomorrow, along with the shield stops pipes and door stops,

It's all in the details, just a little boy in a man's shell, still building plastic tank models when I was young, just now instead of testors glue I use a welder, and computer, and laser to cut.

Re: M2 A1 scout car build starts
Last one today, can't wait to start straightening her original front fenders. Aside from front fenders and her gear she's a recreation. Guess I'll have to find a tractor steering wheel, to get the 40s vibe.
I put my stink on it so, here's the stink 1944 headlight design, 1941, tail and outside fuel tanks, 1942, front design for shield, no window glass in front of shield, like the 1939 models. Any suggestions for tail lights?, Should I build a ditching roller, or leave off like the Brits, I am not putting in the skate wheel and trolley inside,. front and side hard mounts, for 30 Cal's, Remember she's a parts chaser, everyday driver, trying to inspire people to get interested in what we do here.
