Jon:

Where do we find the correct clutch disks for the M20/M8? I'm looking for an NOS or a rebuild.

All,

FYI.

A currently available replacement for the throw-out bearing is the N1171 Clutch Release Bearing (seen in the SKF and American Bearings brands).

Ayone have a part number for the rubber hydraulic line back by the clutch slave cylinder?

Mine is rough shape and appears it could go at any moment.

Re: M20 / M8 Parts - Starter Solenoid

Post by dgrev » Sun Mar 23, 2014 12:24 am

Listees

I am in need of a starter motor solenoid.
G134-0389052
FM-09B-11450
B248697

12V of course.

My starter solenoid has a failed coil. It has
also had the benefit of some ham fisted baboon who has
stripped the bronze threads.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I might get one?

Thanks
Doug

Modern ford truck solenoid looks exactly like the orig.
shouldnt be hard to find at any auto parts store. If you cant find one, i will get the part number off mine on Thursday.

Would you do that please and suggest best place to purchase?

Most of what I have found on internet have been low quality.

Also, does your replacement have the manual activation button the same as original?

Regards
Doug

I putz my through this armored car with the manual in one hand and the wrong tool in the other.
I have no idea what a manual activator even is, until now, never even heard of that - and I've spent ages pouring over the manual.
Just that the picture of an original, and the OLD OLD crusty one I pulled out of mine to replace looks exactly like a modern Ford 12v truck solenoid.

Here, we can buy them at Sears, Autozone, Napa, etc. for perhaps $20 max. Someone correct me..?

Hey Guys.

Clutch Slave cylinder seal and boots are shot. Anyone have rebuild kit crossovers to recommend? Its one of the blank lines on the list.

Thanks!
Tom

I have discovered through exhaustive searching that the lockheed clutch slave cylinder marked "A 1114" is an exact copy.
They arent a whole lot easier to find, but at least its a start.

Did you find a replacement for that sad looking hose in the clutch hydraulic line 82ndrecontbp? Maybe a good brake shop could make one up for you other than that perhaps a hose specialist? You've probably got it sorted by now.

I did thankfully. Finding someone to make it up was not easy.

The slave and master cylinders ended up needing replacement as well. So it was fun fun fun.
