probably you have seen the TM 9-710 page concerning the handle of the Half Track hydraulic jack. In effect this handle have a twist but I don't think this is the same also for the Scout Car. In effect if you look the below pictures (the only two that I know for the SC tool set), in first you can see three bars in the right side of the jack and all are straigth.
And also in this picture:
I don't know if the Vlchek is the only brand correct for the screwdriver, but it is logical thinking since the other wrenches are from the same brand. Any idea about Stanley...philipgslattery wrote: Secondly ,do you know if the Vlchek screwdriver is the only correct one. I have seen photos of others, such as Stanley, which look very similar.Would this suffice?

Re: Scout Car tool set (Updated)
Alberto, Thankyou again for the replies and photos.Your postings are very informative. I have seen the first but not the second photo. It indeed looks as if the straight jack handle is correct.
The enlargement is very helpful. Is it possible to post enlarged parts of the rest of the top photo? I realize this is probably time consuming and tricky but I am sure it would be helpful to all if you could do it.
Some items I cannot identify. e.g. is that a wooden box or officer's field desk etc. in the left top side of the first photo.
When one looks at the photos of the huge amount of carried equipment it makes you wonder how on earth they ever fitted the crew or moved.
Happy collecting
Philip

Re: Scout Car tool set (Updated)
Alberto, Thankyou yet again. Your attention to detail is exemplary. I will pursue the search for the jack handle.
Like you I have no idea what items 13 and 15 are ( or in my case, many of the other items).
Any thoughts on the wooden box like srtucture in the top left of the top photo?
Philip

Alberto, The only nice round pair I can suggest ( not the usual nice round pair you might be thinking of) for item 15 in the photo might be the canvas headlight covers.

probably you have read this topic concerning to the SC tool set pic:
Maybe some of the tools were the same used in the two pictures....algor wrote:I think these two photos was made in the same place and at the same time: 811th TD RCN 15 the Scout Car and 20 & 24 the two jeeps...Wingnutt wrote:The 811th Tank Destroyer Battalion saw some heavy action, by the way. Re: Scout Car tool set (Updated)
Alberto,
The SNL-specified tool bag is of the "draw string type" -- not the envelope type associated with the jeep. Item #19 in the layout above appears to depict a drawstring bag lying horizontally with the drawstring/opening to the left. The bag would be easy enough to fabricate from WW2 canvas and cord if one had the dimensions.
