New Scout Car owner here. I just purchased SN 261682. It has the engine, transmission, hood armor, louvers and windshield armor. Pretty much complete and can't wait to start working on it!

It is in Maryland. What can you tell me about it? Looking through the database, M3A1 S/N 261682 is from production Lot 6, Ordnance Range 9377-13376 (mine has no data plate - but the math says mine should be roughly 10388, if I did it correctly). When was it produced (what month and 1942 or 1943) and what should the registration number be?

Greetings to all. I am resuming restoration on my SC. Let's just say responsibilities of kids and life kinda got in the way the last ten years. The data plate number is 263402. Hood number is 6084960. I found the vehicle on my wife's grandmother's farm in west Texas. It had original markings of 91st Reccn Troop, headquarters company, vehicle number 7. I have already done lots of work in it. My main goal is to get it running by December, and restored by next summer. I live just north of Dallas, Tx, so I'd be grateful for any information that would help me, or if other SC owners live nearby. I know of one more owner near Van, TX, and spoke to another owner at the Dallas Air Show October 2017.

SEE ROD SHAVER AT THE MVPA-YORK CONVENTION OR CALL HIM - 602-421-0858. I've bought those things from him before for my scout car so I know he has/had them......may still have some available. He's on the road right now to YORK but he will likely answer the phone.....

Number change on serial number listed, shows #267643 in Colorado, actual is #267843, cleaning frame the serial number had an 8 and not a 6 (top of 8 was not clear until rust and dirt removed, it is the one shown on page 13 of this subject from Clint) It is now living in Arkansas and stripped to the frame getting ready for a complete rebuild, (possibly to one with a pulpit as pictured in other index messages because I have no data tag. But something interesting showed up, wanting to get the roller working I removed it (as everyone knows not easy) and started cleaning with wire wheel and this is what I found stamped on one side (driver side) 267843 and below it 16445. Could this be my Ord. number? Anyone else find their serial number stamped on the roller?

I also have 256272 that is listed, if you keep updates on location, will take some time soon to see if number is on the hood or not.
