I am putting the brass door snaps on my '44 MB, with correct tool, and found that one can apply a little to much force and ruin the snaps I need one, butt would like two (in case I get too enthusiastic on eat other side.)

I share your pain. I ruined several snaps before I got a correctly made install tool. Borrowed it from Richard Grace. I also found that snaps that rotated after installation could be "tightened up" with a drop of Superglue. Be careful to keep it off the spring! I am sorry I do not have any spare snaps to share with you, my learning curve took care of them. JimT
