WTB, generator for a later MB
I have needed a generator for my 1944 MB for many years (I just keep it charged between drives with a trickle charger) and every time I've looked for a 'new' or rebuilt generator, I can never find one.
Does anyone have one? Of course I checked Ron's site first. Nada.

Where are you located? They are expensive to ship.

Ron is out. I'm planning on taking my MB to a shop to replace the wiring harness and do other stuff I'm not equipped/trained for, I guess I'll have him check out what's in there, maybe he can get it running.
I have no earthly idea who you're referring to there.

I have a freshly rebuilt Jenny from a '46-'48 CJ. I think you could use your case and swap the core?

I don’t think a CJ generator will work with an MB regulator. One is type “A” and the other is type “B”, I don’t remember which is which.

Re: WTB, generator for a later MB
You may be able to switch a wire and make it work with the b circit,, genny is smaller in size and will require a new bottom mount that bolts to engine,, the jeep police will notice it, or gut your vr and put the smaller a circuit vr in it, or keep searching for a correct genny
there is a nos one on the auction site from the tx dealer for 500. did you call him to see if he has used and tested? I just bought gennys last week, going to test them and list them for $300 each, pretty much as is if they work.

Do you have a link? I searched ePay and found ZERO generators for MBs/GPWs.

Re: WTB, generator for a later MB
Search for it as "G503 Generator", it pops up that way.
The tag is stamped GEG 5102C, the late war MB/GPW generator should be GEG 5101D. Usually the difference is not the generator, it is the pulley for the application. This may be for a Dodge, Studebaker, or postwar upgrade.
The date code shows it to be an October 1951 manufacture.
The pulley for the late war G503 is the SP484A (spacer type).
Call Brent Mullins and talk to him to confirm, he's the seller.
Cheers,
Peter

Re: WTB, generator for a later MB
Adam,
You're right on the Date, I had saved off his other one that had the 10F date code, that one appears to have sold.
Out of respect for Ron, I don't put other dealers' listings on his forum. I was just answering Lee's question about the link and whom to contact based on that inquiry.
To your point on the GEG 5102C application, I just wanted Lee to ask for his own peace of mind.
Thanks for pointing out the correct date.
Cheers,
Peter

Re: WTB, generator for a later MB
The application is a 6x6 or 6x4 Studebaker. The other one I found on line is NOS in the box but the front plate is larger than the body.
This one looks like a mis-tagged GEG 5101. The pulley would determine whether it was for a jeep or Dodge.
Again, I think the only difference is the pulley, check to make sure.
Cheers,
Peter
