Plastic? You had me there so I did some searching. They were metal (aluminum or zinc I think) as this ad for a reproduction plastic one says: https://walcks4wd.com/Data-Plate-For-Ro ... _2079.html But our host has them https://www.vintagejeeps.com/p-1039-dat ... 11869.aspx and I assume his are correct. I did even see and ad for one made of brass, which would definataley not be correct for a WWII jeep https://www.amazon.com/BRASS-LIGHT-SWIT ... B01G5RRHDY

Jeff,

thanks, your links are of great help and interest. The word plastic isn´t quite correct, as these were made from celluloid (perhaps an early form of "plastic"). As far as I know, the GPW plates of the rotary switch were made of "plastic" and the MB of aluminium, also differing in the letters and lines. I read this in some of the threads in this forum. I agree that the brass tags are totally wrong.

Best regards and greetings,

Marc

There was an OD Plastic Rotary Switch Plate. They are not very common. I have had an NOS in my spares since the 50's.
