I`m after this type of 1 inch wire/cast webbing buckle. If you have any, in any state please let me know.
The above are NOT mine. Pictures from here: http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=206507
NOS straps of the flat pressed buckle type to trade, other parts or cash too.
Happy to take 1 or lots. I need up to 22 for 2 jeeps (i`ve already got 2!!).
Thanks,
Ian.

Re: OLD STRAP BUCKLES. Wire/Cast type
I have collected WWII militaria and Jeeps for over 40 years and I have never seen one of these type buckles on any US Army equipment, I know they are supposed to be early or for the Slat Grill, but I believe they are actually a replacement buckle, perhaps post war and perhaps not even US made. call me crazy but it just seams odd that the only WWII military vehicle or piece of equipment that uses this buckle is an early Jeep, no other piece of field gear I have ever seen or handled has used these and I have seen and touched thousands upon thousands of WWII U.S. military items. They look more like a post war European buckle to me, perhaps from a rebuild.

Re: OLD STRAP BUCKLES. Wire/Cast type
Hi Nick,
In answer to your question... it's a fun game!
I thinkI might be right for the GPW style. I bough 6 NOS straps with buckle on them which when added to the other ones and 2's I`ve collected it should see me enough for the 42 GPW.
for the 42 MB though... I have:
- 3 with patent
- 2 with a North Judd anchor, though I think there are 3 or 4 more somewhere which I need to locate!
- 8 with out either anchor or patent
Thanks,
Ian.
