Hi guys,

He's not from the UK as he's writing the full name rather than UK, England or Great Britain. I agree with the previous post he's probably African looking at the scam. it could also be more than one person.

Regards

Steve

I just got an e mail this morning, something about checking your G503 private mail for a message from the serial number board. gives a funny looking link to follow. That e mail isn't even listed on the G site.

Just a word of caution to uses of the forum outside the U.S.
The scammers are at work again...a guy who is based in the U.S. [ or certainly uses a U.S. phone number ] claims he has the part you have advertised for. When you phone him, he gets very vague about the part and lacks any real knowledge of what he is selling. It is also offered far below the market price. When i asked him about shipping to PA he was even more vague. Of course he wants payment by Western Union and not by Paypal.
Any suggestions from members around the World how we can ensure both parties in a transaction stay safe and get what they are normally very happy to pay for?

He goes by the name MARIO KEELEN, address 1478 FOLSOM AVE. Hayward CA. his name and address are fake of course. His Phone is a "burner" Ph:# 510-682-0893. He requests payment from unsuspecting people through Walmart to Walmart payment (untrace-able). Once payment is made he is gone. He is specifically targeting
auto/truck restoration guys. Please place a warning to all members about this. He is having success because people don't know about it.
Walmart and the Alameda CA police have been notified.

You'd think that some company as huge as Wal-Mart is would have the same kind of cameras set up with a time-code to identify people when they cash out. I mean, does anyone have a problem with a bank that has security cameras in plain view to stop robbers or quickly ID them? Same thing here, Wal-Mart is merely protecting their membership and preventing robbers (or making identification simple) by installing those cameras.

If some guy at a 7-11 can afford to install cameras, so can Wal-Mart....

Here in the Atlanta area, the police asked WalMart if they could encourage the public to conduct their Craigs List transaction in WalMart parking lots as peiple were being robbed meeting buyers and sellers at corner gas stations.
WalMart refused as their parking lots are for their customers, not the general public car pooling, selling cars, Craigs List transactions, etc. So the police ask the public to come to the police station to do their CL business.

Nice job, WalMarkt. That's being a good steward of the publics trust.

And while I'm WalMart bashing. Don't know if this happens in your area, but they will close a store that has only been opened a few years and then build a brand new store just a mile or so away. Seems they use up their tax breaks that the city gave them for all their new jobs created and they close the store and go to the highest bidder city a mile or so away and get a 5 or 10 year deal on their taxes and then will close that sotre and move again.

Way to go, WallyWorld.

ANOTHER SCAM, seems like the scammers are now requesting you get a car fax for vehicles you are selling. They send you a link and tell you how much better they are than compared to KBB services, Well they are getting kickbacks for getting you to pay for services. Plus who knows where that like goes. More on that scam at craigslist.

Can you believe some dip asked for a car fax for the slatty that I am selling, He quoted " I need to know what I am buying is a sound vehicle"

I have seen this in several cities/towns in the US. I figured that is what they are doing. Corporate pigs.

You don’t even have to be email scammed, just place your trust in someone to send the parts you paid for and hope they don’t screw you like happened to me over 2 combat wheels on the G. I have the pm, emails, and PayPal transaction to prove it. Paid 400$ and got nothing for it. What can I do? These transactions are all based in trust. Be careful who you buy from, the seller had been on the G since about 2004 and I assumed he was solid. The for sale ad can easily be accessed for anyone interested.

Go to paypal,s site and open up a ticket. It'll freeze the funds until the situation is cleared away. If that doesn't work, dispute the charges on your CC card if you used it through paypal.

I'd also contact the mods to get in touch with the seller.

Hello,

They are back !

It appears that the WTB scammer has returned, this time as a member, and in the USA.
I posted 2 wanted requests for hard to find items, and they have a third party contact for both of them.

Here it is : G503 member name : Squier, no posts, just joined.
Sounds to me like a total scam, what do others think ?

1.) My posting "WTB Ford GPW Sprague Radio Filterette JX17"

Squier sent this PM : 1:30am

Check Karen out, she is up in Missouri. She has a Ford GPW Sprague Radio Filterette JX17 for sale. Here's her email jesusluvsyou0@gmail.com

2.) My posting " Wanted Old Spring Cushions for GPW/MB " :

Squier sent this pm : 1:12 am

Check Karen out, she is up in Missouri. She has a Old Spring Cushions for GPW/MB for sale. Here's her email jesusluvsyou0@gmail.com

He joined Feb. 27th, 2019, zero posts, and likely a fraud.

Hopefully a moderator can investigate and take action !!

Hello Adam,

I will be talking to Ron today ordering some parts and will mention this scammer who joined the G503,
as a scammer.

Maybe he can get rid of the offender.
