Seems like he/she is getting greedier. Not only is $3,000 pounds higher than most of his scams, but at $4,500 US for a motor, that's a ton of money. Usually he/she is underpriced to get some attention. In this case, I don't think too many people would nibble.

Of course, shipp is included.

Same scammer contacted me last week about a GPW transmission case. Beware of this guy.

I hate those people who mess up a totally good and trusting website group like the G. I always ask the scammer where the item is located and I say Hey what a coincidence, I'll be in that area on business, I'll pay you in person and pick it up at same time!!! Don't hear from them anymore the bastards.

Interesting how they all want your phone number.
I presumed the more anonymous they wre, the more confident they were. No way to trace anything back to them, no foreign accents, etc. Now, I don't know that they ever call, maybe it's a ruze to build up false confidence that they actually exist.
I think the dealy tactic of getting a list of parts you want and then checkiking the warehouse is so that they can Google an approximate value of what you want and start the scam off on the right foot.

Does anyone from the UK say that they are from the UK? I thought it was always a city or county or Ireland, or Scotland or England, etc. Not just "UK" Unless, of course, that stands for "UnKnown".

Hi Robert,
In fact I AM from the UK too !!!!!
And I have to admit I often use it.
Saves me typing out Great Britain or England
But these cracker jacks are not from the UK,Britain or England
More like Ghana or Nigeria those places I may add are on the same time setting as the UK too.
Another small clue although not in this case is if they use a Yahoo email address, if it is a genuine UK email it will be yahoo.co.uk
an not .com

And to add to my above post.
Looking through posts in this thread all who have included an email in their posts, all are all G mail addresses
G mail is not a common used provider in the Uk

How about this one, I thought that the only scammers who used the oil and gas gig were renting houses on craigslist.

Adam

Good to hear back from you, i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project, i am at sea right now so i wont be able to check the xxx Project am buying this for my dad as a surprise gift so am willing to offer you the amount you requested, i insisted on PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online and i don't have internet banking too, but i can pay from my PayPal account as i have my bank a/c attached to it, all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payments, and if you don't have a PayPal account yet, i will suggest you set one up at www.paypal.com it will not take you more than 3 mins to do that, i will be expecting your PayPal email so that i will make payment, i have a pick-up agent that will come for the pick-up they will also determine and secure the shipment once payments has been sorted, i will also need your full name and phone number.

If anyone is concerned that their private email address is available to other members it is easy to hide it. Go to your User Control Panel, select Board Preferences and then tick "NO" against Users Can Contact Me By Email. Members can still PM you through this site but not direct to your private email.

Cheers

This is part of what I wrote on a post in GPW wanted. It is also the heading for the email I received. "Looking for GPW (GP) rear axle housing and shafts. Pumpkin and gears are GP as well as bearing retainers and bolts."

This is the email content.
