What’s your DoD? There were 5 different styles of air cleaners used during GPW production.

Yes. Please look for the information in the upcoming GPW Restoration Guide. It’s in its final edits as we speak.

Are you asking about a specific type for a particular GPW?

Remember that Ren’s site only shows 4 different air cleaners when in fact there are technically 5 different styles.

To get to the point there are two different versions of the embossed Oakes. The difference is in the mounting bracket on the rear of the unit. Early embossed had a flat bracket and the late embossed air cleaner had a raised channel on the bracket.

So you see....there were 5 different styles of air cleaners.

Please list the DoD of your vehicle. Saying “anything moves” isn’t a valid answer. Why would I want to offer you an “F” marked AC air cleaner if in reality your GPW should have a Oakes type III installed? I am not going to offer you an incorrect air cleaner for the period your GPW was assembled. I’m a purest...so I won’t sell you an air cleaner that wasn’t originally installed on your vehicle...others may need it for their GPWs. Please, list the DoD and SN of your GPW so we may know which air cleaner would be appropriate for your GPW.

Ciao Michael,

I understood your message. Up to now I'm assembling a mixed GPW, starting from spares that I have collected from different friends, so no matching numbers.

I still miss an air filter: I don't have any specific request about the type up to now....just have something to evaluate.

My frame is 124313
My body is 194287
