Wanted GPW Crankshaft Chain Drive cam

Post by JMadsen » Fri Jul 06, 2018 12:26 pm

rebuilding my 45 GPW and the crank has been welded before and now has a crack. I found an MB Willies crank local but I'd really prefer to use a Ford Crank.

any Leads or help appreciated.

Thanks
Josh

I have two of them....where are you located? I'm in the SF Bay Area but this would have to be crated in wood or somehow boxed to prevent it from getting the nose destroyed or it just plain getting cracked in half. It is also heavier than hell and shipping is going to be a bummer. If you can pick it up or have someone else stop by that would be preferential to me....I'm not in the shipping business and have no crates here to do that.

Thanks guys, I'm located in Salt Lake Utah.

Chuck, I don't know anyone in the Bay area' but I may have to find someone.
I understand not wanting to package one up.
I may be going to Reno next month to hot August nights with a friend if I can get out of work a couple days. maybe I could find someone from California heading there?
I'll send you a private message.

thanks
Josh

You can always mail him a wooden crate and all the packaging materials, usps takes 50 or 60 lbs, then call ups to pick it up when it is packaged. They will take 150# from a residence. Bit costly, but hens teeth are tough to find.

Doesn't Ron sell crank kits ready to go? he may even have GPW cranks.

Chuck, I sent you an email or pm did you get it? I could do as Adam suggested by sending a crate and a return shipping label so all you would need to do is drop it in the box with minimal effort and drop at a UPS store ?

please let me know.

Adam, how do I get in touch with Ron. to see if he has any GPW cranks.
Thanks
Josh

It hasn't arrived yet....but if you are going to HAN in Reno, I will ask around here if anyone is going that I know. You might do better just coming down to pick it up though, nothing but the cost of gas and your time driving. That way you have it and you know it won't get lost, strayed or damaged. Shipping a crate around isn't cheap so the cost of gas would just about equal that I think.

Just come down I-80 to Vallejo and take Highway 37 west towards Highway 101. I am one exit south of where 37 meets the 101.

Let me know if that is possible.
