Project Mule

Post by carmen » Fri Feb 24, 2006 7:18 pm

OK

I'll start it off by asking. Looking for a project Mule in the $1,000 to $1,500 range. Would be willing to travel up to 200 miles to save shipping from northeastern Pa.

Thanks

Carmen

Hmmm...a new place to lurk. I just loved those lil things when I was in VN. We didn't have 'em in our Batt. but once and a while we got to ride or better yet drive one that some Marine would bring by. They were pretty fun.

Good luck on your new section of the forum... 8)

Carmen, I'm afraid you're going to have to look long and hard to find one in that price range....they are out there, but you have to be in the right place at the right time. "Bargan" mules are now going for $2500 - $3000, and the really nice ones are $6000 up. Good luck, and leave no stone unturned in your search, follow up on every lead.

I guess that I was Extreme lucky I got mine for $400 bucks. It was a trade in at the Utility Vehicle place that I worked at. (Golf Cars) A city municipally traded it in on a Golf car truck and I bought it for the trade in value. It needed some work, the city shop could not seem to keep it running. I installed a new set of spark plugs an it ran fine except for a major oil leak. It would pour oil out the fuel pump.I then noticed that the transport valves were shut and the engine was building up internal pressure and forcing oil out the weakest point, the fuel pump. Replaced the pump, new gasket, opened the valves and no more oil leak. If you get Army motors you can see a shot of it in issue # 114 on page 35. I have had this thing for around 5 years now had many offer to sale but I cant seem to part with it. I don't know "first love"
