Magneto oil line?

Post by Air Doug » Thu May 26, 2022 9:10 am

I am trying to install a rebuilt Emery Mule Supply magneto and am stumped by one of its fittings, the one with the red cap in the picture. I have looked at the figures and instructions in TM 5-2805-213-14 and it is not mentioned. Figure 3-15 doesn't seem to show it either. The mule is a 1968 A5 with the wide fender conversion. It came with an electronic ignition magneto and I am replacing it with a standard magneto. The old magneto did not have this fitting. My other mule has the fitting and tube but it is 2 hours away, so I was hoping someone could help me figure out where this fitting is supposed to hook up to.

That's just a vent line, should run over to a fitting on top of the air filter canister.

On the electronic mag, the vent line was not used and the mag had a plug in it. Not sure about the air filter, it may also be plugged, or you may have to drill and tap, can't remember!
