... cutting fire wood & the starter went south. i took it off & walked back to the house. apparently;.. someone was a crappy welder. this is the new starter i just put on last summer. so;;.. the first warm day,, gotta get the mig out ........... t

I always used MIG on the starters that I modified, but looking at that, I wonder if TIG might be better??

... already got it fixed the other warm day ( wednesday ),,, just made sure that i had good penetration on the larger gear, and got every tooth on the smaller. also,, kept heat down,, with a good pause too between each spot,......... looked good when done.........
