Grummanflyer, thanks for your input. Agreed that Amsoil, and probably any synthetic oil, shouldn't be used for breaking-in an engine as it may never break-in. I know they have a break-in oil at least for automobile engines.

I'm a great believer in Amsoil's products (and am a dealer): about 20 years ago their grease for racing purposes helped cure a problem I had when sports car racing a Mazda RX2 with solid front rotors, the grease was cooked and bearings not in great shape after a race weekend. The grease cured that problem. Also, bought a 1998 Dodge Durango from a friend he had since new, he used Amsoil for 90% of the oil changes, when I dropped the oil pan to check for sludge (there wasn't any), the cross-hatch marks were still visible in the cylinders at 138,000 miles.
