A year ago I bought a non runner from a fellow who had wrecked and hurt himself pretty badly on his mule. It sat under a tarp until late December as it was a few projects back in line. Anyway, I put some new tires on so I could move it around. Put an electric starter on it cause the rope starter was worn out and didn't work. The engine was down to 70psi (I think it ran too long while it was upside down in the wreck)
Bought one of the $350 2A045-III engines and over the last two weekends did the swap. It's alive and running fairly well. I think I will need to move the magneto gear one tooth as it feels a touch retarded and slowish to respond to throttle. But it sure is a hoot to drive. Only took me 25 years to come up with one I could afford since my first time driving one!

Re: on the dirt again.
Congratulations on bringing your mule back from the dead. Is that the one on Facebook running?

If it is zipping around city streets, yes.
