M274 parts
I have two motors which I think are the second generation of the willys motor for the m274. Its a flat 4 cylinder with willys script on the cylinder heads and an hour meter. Could some one help me ID the motors.

Thanks, they match the 2nd gen motor. Is there anywhere I can find parts?

I think Emery Mule Supply still has some 4-cylinder parts. (262) 567-5606

The first engine you have the picture of is a 1st patter but with a 2nd patter intake manifold and engine cover.
Here is a pure 1st pattern

Re: M274 parts
There is a market, a limited one as original 4 cylinder mules are not very common.

Re: M274 parts
My plane was to brake them down a re purpose them as an aircraft motor but would it more worth while to keep them as military motors

Re: M274 parts
I don't think any of the 4 or 2 cylinder engines have a large enough crankshaft thrust bearing for aircraft use. I understand that folks were using the 4AO32-4 Teledyne engine in ultralite aircraft and the failure rate was extremely high. It takes a special type thrust bearing to handle the thrust generated by a propeller.

Re: M274 parts
I thought the thrust bearing might be an issue along with power to weight ratio is very low.
Since I know the power performance now the best option is to sell them and stick with a hirth f-23.
thanks for yalls help in IDing the motors
