Fuel delivery issue.

Post by WPVT » Sun Jun 09, 2024 4:25 pm

My A5 mule quit today.
I finally traced the problem to the in-tank fuel filter or pickup assembly. When I I ran a makeshift fuel line from the bottom of the tank to the engine, it started and ran fine.
So I need to drop the tank, which I will do shortly. My question is whether the filter in the tank is absolutely necessary, since there is already a filter in the sediment bowl. It seems a poor location for a filter, seeing as access is so difficult.
Has anyone had experience with this ?

Check with John emery, he has a nice stainless steel in tank fuel filter to replace the paper in tank filter.. it’s worth the extra money it’s been in my tank for at least 5 years

Thanks. Although I was tempted to just eliminate the filter altogether , I ordered one from John this morning.
