Best fuel to use

Post by michaelg » Thu Sep 14, 2023 5:09 pm

Would like to get thoughts on the best fuel to use in my mule. Recently completely rebuilt engine. I have access to the usual ethanol added gas, 93 octane ethanol free gas and 100 octane aviation low lead gas. Any recommendations? Thanks

Use non-ethanol gas.

I strongly agree with Chuck. The initial cost is outweighed by the savings in unnecessary extra maintenance.

You can remove the ethanol from gasoline yourself:

Then add "Octane Supreme" to make leaded gasoline like the old days: http://www.wildbillscorvette.com/octanesupreme01.htm

For people who live in the USA or Canada there are still gas stations that sell ethanol free gasoline from usually 85 octane and up:

REMEMBER! The higher the octane the more advanced the timing MUST be.

Not must be , can be. I run AV gas in my mules on factory timing and they run great.
