Studebaker Weasel Stretcher Brackets Needed

Post by lepercolony » Fri Jan 22, 2021 5:05 pm

Don't know if this is the correct forum for this vehicle, it looks more like the Steve Greenberg classified page, but a friend up here in AK has a weasel, don't know what model, and wants to carry a stretcher on it. Looks like he needs some clamps and keepers, but isn't there a large bent tube bracket or two needed as well. Any pics of this set up and leads for parts. He does not do internet, so I'm helping him out.

Hopefully.

Hmmm...I asked the eBay seller a question about needed parts and this was the seller. They sent link for two listings, one the left and right bracket hold down and one retainer with the little chain attached. Nothing about the large bent tube bracket that I found a pic of on Worthpoint. Guess I'll have my friend call them next week and speak directly.
Thanks.

I was told these are the stretcher brackets but then someone told me they aren’t. Looks like they are the ones in many weasel books but anyone’s guess I suppose

Can't find much on Google. Here is what I did find, just not one or two photos of the brackets and stretcher installed. MVS responded that I need at least one "keeper" the part with the small chain and the left and right spring loaded retainer. Nothing about this other tube bracket with small chains on it as well.

There are the rectangular pockets that the feet of the stretchers get pinned into as well as the other stretcher mounts with the spring loaded captures.
