Correct oil for transmission and rear axle on M29C

Post by dukws4ever » Wed Oct 16, 2019 6:48 pm

Hi
I’m going thru this M29C and I’m getting ready to change the oil in the transmission and the rear axle
They both contain what smells like engine oil and according to the manual, They both use -30 weight engine oil
What is the recommendation in the weasel world?
I have finished the engine rebuild and test run
I intend to post pics and video of the progress
I also worked out the wood filler issue for the rear main bearing cap
Thanks for any and all assistance

You can bet it's because it was designed for use in a cold environment and they figured to keep the oil lighter weight from thickening up from the cold.
If I (ever) change mine out I will likely use 90wt, as we seldom have snow down here in VA near the ocean.
