Going through my recently acquired weasel and getting some conflicting information from the data plates and want to put it out here for comments. Whatever number we can agree on, I'd also be interested if anyone has a suggested DOD. I cannot find any reference to a DOD on any of the plates. Full set of data plates on the dash, but they look funny to me. All the numbers are stamped, not printed, which may be accurate, no printing at all, shifting diagram stamped, etc. Like Bubba replicated them.
But the two tags in question are two located on the bulkhead panel behind the drivers seat and the engine cover. The one behind the engine cover location is riveted to the bulkhead and says: -29C-7872
A rebuild tag is screwed on the bulkhead behind the drivers seat and it states: Tag behind drivers seat on bulhead: ord serial number 8851 and manf serial number the same rebuilt LKY March 1955 bottom of drivers seat bulkhead tag
LKY is NOT Lexington, KY but a code for PA Chambersburg Army Depot
The tag on the bulkhead behind the engine cover location is the only reference to a different number that may or may not be a serial number.
So, is my serial number 8851 or 7872
If they made 15,000 weasels, I am presuming I am mid production, but if it is indeed a M29c version, I also presume DOD would be sometime in 1945. Anyone narrow it down any further?
Thanks in advance.

Does your body have a vertical seam. I have a letter Kenny rebuild m29c with float tanks also. I’d post pic. Can’t on here

Don't know what you mean by vertical seam. Side tub plates are solid. bubba cut in a drivers door and a cargo door on the passenger side, but no seam in the free board.

Is the 8851 my serial number and the other tag on the bulkhead riveted behind the engine cover location my hull number?
Any way to approximate my date of delivery?
