Here is the same with color correction:
Senior_and_Junior_jeep.jpg
It looks like the jeep was recently restored at that time and the front bumper was new and freshly painted with a slightly different color

Hi Yves,
Wow thanks for the photo with a different perspective. Dad bought the Jeep in 1980, and I have only found out recently about what’s happened to it within its life. Dad didn’t do any modifications himself, as he was more than wrapped about how it looked and ran back then.
In its “previous” life however, it was issued to the Australian Army; and they did the usual army mods at the time. The bumper could have very well been replaced at some stage of its life due to wear and tare.
The Australian Army mods on this Jeep included: A reenforced back chassis (meaning they welded in some small extra sections to make it stronger and prevent any possible chassis flexing); an anti-theft device (a small flat piece of metal with a hole in it, that was mounted under the dashboard and allowed a padlock to be applied around the gear lever; locking it into reverse). It’s had it engine changed out from a Willys to a GPW. It has F stamped front seats; a GPW rear diff; a Willy’s spring on the rear right and a GPW on the rear left. Classic army moves in using whatever they had spare to keep it going and on the road.
