Re: Rear Prop Shaft - Fat or Skinny - Please check your Numb
There is a passage in Lloyd White's book Evolution of the MB noting a deviation permit for the use of 2.75" diameter tube as replacement because of a shortage of 1 1/4" diameter tube...

Hello Richie,
this is quoted from a retrospective document signed by Delmar Roos, Willys Overland Vice President and Engineering chief in November 1944. In it he states W-O only recorded detailed production data dates after 04 March 1942.
The data for the 2.75" shaft refers to the initial request from what I understand which is 27 February 1942.

Re: Rear Prop Shaft - Fat or Skinny - Please check your Number
Hi Jon,
Please add my jeep to the list. I live in the Northern part of The Netherlands, close to the owner of Slat I06I28.
Mine is Slat I06I63, dated 12-24-41 as per the data plate. Purchased from a guy located near Seattle WA. USA. It has a skinny Prop shaft.
Doing a frame off restoration at the moment, intend to drive it to Normandy next year.
Thanks,
Jos
