Re: CDLV contract numbers
The engine number shown on my data plate is 120848 which is for 119343 dod 12th Feb. However the actual engine block is 121233 so it was swapped out at some point soon after the data plates were stamped - maybe a fault before delivery. Hopes this helps to pin down your number.

Re: CDLV contract numbers
Hi Buddy!
the delta on this day was about 1.000...
In my list I have confirmed (Frame/Engine/ DoD):
118952 - 119854 - 2-11
119170 - 120191 - 2-12
119284 - 120307 - 2-12
119343 - 120846 - 2-12
119462 - 120960 - 2-13
Where did you get the info on 120310 and 120574 engines? Do you have a matching frame no for these?

Re: CDLV contract numbers
I know Barry is focused on the Slat Grille blocks but don't forget there was another 1500 jeeps in the 505 Contract.
The 505 contract jeeps had the pressed grille and whatever updates that were being done to the companion USMC contracts per the original Canadian contract specs. A portion of these also remained in Canada while the rest were shipped overseas.
I only state this because new readers may not realize there is another Canadian contract besides the one in this thread when it comes to Canadian jeep contracts.
Cheers,
Peter

Re: CDLV contract numbers
Peter is right.
But it seems the 505 contract was for 3.000 units and delivered in batches:
April 42 - abt MB 138675 to MB 139675, with lifting rings, WILLYS script and 505 plate (1.000 units)
July 42 - abt MB 155498 to MB 1564998, with lifting rings, WILLYS script and 505 plate (1.000 units)
August 42 - abt MB 170287 to MB 171015, unsure about rings, but 505 plate (about 730 units)
This batch saw the introduction of the gas can backing plate and relocated reflector, trailer cable plug and BO light on fender, no WILLYS script
September 42 - abt MB 171016 to MB 171286, unsure about rings, but last Canadian Jeeps with 505 plates (about 270 units)
This last batch had some changes, removed rubber grommet on tail light and the small wooden hood block, not the rubber one anymore, and not the bigger wood / canvas one as yet.
There were two further Canadian contracts: CDLV 1696 for 4.000 units and CDLV 1802 for 1.000 units. If at all these contracts were delivered and if yes, how many Jeeps were delivered, remains to be researched. But these units would have had the standard US configuration and may have been supplied to the Canadians ex. US Army and Britisch Army stocks and would not have any Canadian specifics.
Info thanks to John Farley.
Someone claimed my MB 177547 (JONSEY) DoD 9-28-42, would also be a Canadian contract one. But I have my doubts. Would like to have some evidence. But it could be a Jeep under the unconfirmed CDLV 1696 / 1802 contracts...it does have a British link to BAOR though.
Really hard to be sure, as it was going through a post war rebuild including GPW parts and would have been of standard US specs anyhow.
