Re: A-641 Pedal draft grommet
What is the correct slat grill pedal grommet configuration? Is it a set including rubber grommet, metal washer and spring? Or rubber grommer only?
Thanks, Lad.

So what do you install on your Slat pedals? Rubber grommet+washer+spring?

Re: A-641 Pedal draft grommet
Hello Guys. I’m restoring serial #115466 and I have the same problem
I reproduce felts pads. But some friends notice me that Early Slat’s came with rubber pads.
I web search and I bought 2 rubber groomets pedals in AJParts, but I don’t know how I’ve to assembly that.
Should I use the washer and the cone springs?
Rubber had to passing trough the body holes with small end up?
Can someone show a picture or assembly guide drawing ?
Thanks in advance
Diego

I think the all rubber type is correct for early MB:
These are from The Long Olive Drab Line-

Re: A-641 Pedal draft grommet
There is nothing to assemble with these:
You do not use a washer or cone spring. Just the rubber.-

Re: A-641 Pedal draft grommet
Ok Mark thanks about the photo. !!!
We alredy asembly it on that way too, no springs, and no washer.
But Charly Sainz and I thought that the water who enter from above will have no scape.
And that will make the rubber rot
What do you think about it ?

Re: A-641 Pedal draft grommet
If it helps, in the last 14 years my GPW has been on the road with these rubber grommets installed, I cannot say that I have seen any water enter them, nor has any which has entered caused an issue. I haven't driven through water deep enough to see them submerged (that'd be fairly deep water!) and do drive in the rain.DIEGOTERRERO wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 5:59 pmBut Charly Sainz and I thought that the water who enter from above will have no scape.

Hope this helps,

I do agree with what Mark and Lars (Hobo) have shown, just the grommet with no spring/washer.DIEGOTERRERO wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 6:33 amOk Ian thanks about your opinion.

I did not mention it, but my picture shows the unrestored Jeep.
