Mine is 111246 Del date around Jan 13-15 1942. Data tags were missing but frame tag was there. Missing engine and everything in engine compartment. Have Transmission/transfer. Front Diff was GPW. Slowly trying to acquire all the part needed to restore before I die. And yes, this would be parted out if any other jeep. There's a reason I call it my Fred Flintstone mobile.

Hello Grey Wolf,

That is great you are restoring and saving your rare jeep !
Dataplates4u can make you perfect reproduction tags for it, I have 2 Slat projects to get to in the future.

You can find all the parts you will need, just keep looking !

Good luck !!

Can you post a pic of Fred ?

Best Regards,
Ray

I have always wondered this, especially for the UK...

110739 and 102916 are both restored examples in Yorkshire, England.

I also know of at least two other unrestored examples (100XXX and 116XXX) in the north of England also.

Joe's Motor Pool are currently restoring a SG as well. Wouldn't it be great to get as many together as possible...

I've got a 1940 L head 134 block for sale that you can put in your SG; rebored to 60 over and comes with new pistons; valve train still in.
$440.

Responding to Tizzard's original question:

I have a database of early MB's with about 1,100 entries spanning beginning of MB production through end of 1942. Some are entries for photos or other records. But for the 25,808 Slats made, I have about 550 entries which I believe exist. So 550/25,808=2.1%. For reference, the G503 Slat list contains about 140 jeeps. Another reference point is that my records for 100000 thru 135XXX are pretty deep and for that range, I only show about 660 which is only 1.9%, so it seems like Slats' survival rate might be a tiny bit higher.

I am sure there are more Slats and early MBs out there I don't have data for yet, but I'm guessing the survival rate is <5%.

My MB-111414 (est DoD 1-16-42) is currently under restoration and I believe it’s on “the list”. I’d like to find an engine in the correct range for it.

Not sure if it's on your list already, but my MB II0247, body # 13772, d.o.d. 1-8-42 is very much alive last time I checked :D

Good Morning Everyone:

I have Slat Grill 100259, DOD -- 21 November 1941. It is awaiting my, hopefully soon to be retirement, for full restoration.

Not sure whether it is on C Bennett's database or not.

Regards,

Walter

Michael O: Yep, I have your 111414 on my list already, thx. I don't have a ton of engine/chassis data right around that one, but I'd probably guess it should have an engine in the range of 111600 to 112100 based on others. Also, DoD's around yours in my records range from Jan 2 thru Jan 14, but who knows.

David: Yes, I have your 110247, thx.

Walter: Yep, I have your 100259. I got it in data from Peter Whitaker. What is the tub #??

Jop: Yes, I have 117142. Frank Austurias also reported it from San Fran Craigslist on FB. Any chance you got the tub #?

Below are all the VEP/EP 1941/42 MB's I have in my database as of 10/30/2023.

Good Morning C Bennett:

I will check for the body number as soon as I can on 259, Probably in a week or so. I also have had in my position, at one time or another, a couple of other slattys. Let me check with those owners on releasing their information.

I will get back to you on that in a week or so as well.

Regards,

Walter
