Good morning or whatever depending on where you are
I am looking for any 'original' detail photos of slat grill bodywork petrol tank housing. So if you have restored, have a body under restoration or photos of a tub which shows this detail could I ask to have copies. Ideally both inside and out would be best but especially in the internal ones are most important.
Many thanks
Andrew

Re: Slat Grill petrol housing photos please
Hello Andrew,
Your jeep likely had the "curved style" gas tank well if you have a late slat jeep.
The later slat grills had the "new" curved edge tank wells fitted and the factory, as opposed to the standard square box slat grill gas tank wells.
If your slat in question is 123045, that that would have had the curved style gas tank well.
I can post some well pics from my unrestored BRT slat .
If you are looking for the original early square box gas tank well, well I have one of those I can post.
Best Regards,
Ray

Hello Andrew,
I hope these pictures will assist you and others on what a March 6, 1942 Slat Grill Jeep
had for a gas tank well.
It is a rounded edge gas tank well.
The slat that it is pictured from is serial number 121229.
Date stamped is 3-6-42 on original glove box data plate that matches frame data plate. It is in rough shape but you can certainly see what was installed
Best Regards,
Ray
