Not a factory stamp, what are the other identifying factors on block, casting number, casting date, pic of top of water pump area. oil pan off, date under there?

Is the flat above the water pump the long pad or short ww2 pad? water pump off? 2 holes under there or 1?

That’s the same French style of stamping that’s on the pad of my French rebuilt T-84.

I have or had 2 W4 blocks from aug of 43. not many engines earlier than that in my personal records

My gpw block is from 43,with a mb number of MB156xxx pic of the serial number has a different font than yours.
might still have it, I dont remember.

Casting date of 8-xx could be a post war block too. need the oil pan off and a picture of the water pump top area. what head is on this? is this a timing chain engine? rivet in middle of timing cover.
