Re: Very early mirror arm
Is there any evidence when this 'early' arm was replaced by the standard arm? I've been through my files but can't find a single picture with this early style mirror arm. I own 106163 and I'm curious if I should need one too.
A while ago there was a very complete early Slat (101632) including the mirror arm, but it was the normal style. If you're interested and want to take a look, click here: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=287695
Regards,
Jos

Re: Very early mirror arm
My slat is 90% original. The long arm mirror is original to mine. I have the low windscreen 101948 12/41
I want to post a pic but can't figure out how.

Jerseybouce the way I post pictures, I email them to myself then I am able to degrade the picture quality and send them to my iPad. It’s extra work but works for me.

Re: Very early mirror arm
Which style are you stating you have? The regular style or the hex-nut style? (And if you'd like you can email me the pic(s) you want to post and I can post them for you)Jerseybounce wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:56 amMy slat is 90% original. And I am pretty sure the VAST MAJORITY of Slats were NOT delivered with the hex-nut mirror arm. Of all the factory pics and in-service pics I have seen I have yet to find a Slat with the hex-nut arm. (Other than of the very first few Slats) Can someone produce an original factory or wartime pic of a Slat with the hex-nut arm? Or how about an very original unrestored Slat with the hex-nut? Jos posted a link to a VERY original Slat that sold, and it had the regular type arm.
I have asked this question before in the link below. The answers I received include it was for an MA, M151, M715, and/or GMC.

Here is a link to a period pic of an MA (look at the cars in the background). You can clearly see this MA has the Hex-nut style.

And another:

And on this page scroll down a little bit to the color pics. Those are period and distinctly show the MA with the hex-nut

Re: Very early mirror arm
Are any of these still available? I’d like one for MB 111414.
