1941 slat found

Post by ANDY » Tue Sep 11, 2018 4:27 pm

Just brought home this December 1941 the slat grill in as found condition. has an early GPW engine but still retains all of its data plates and frame number.
Overall pretty good condition little bit of rust on the front floors but overall pretty nice original bumper, grill ,fenders ,black out light ,axle shafts things like that.. unfortunately has the wrong front springs but it did come with the original windshield in original paint lots of original paint visible under the flaking black
Very nice touch was inside one of the original zippered cushions I discovered some documents as pictured the original MWO stamped with the original hood number of that jeep.
Thinking about restoring or maybe letting somebody else do it ...

Andy

Nice find. That MWO record is a sweet bonus!

Could you share pictures of the content of the MWO documents?

My 3/42 did get all the possible updates; I’d be very happy to know which ones I have to «delete » to pit this jeep back in a mid 44 timeframe!

Andy,
Was the MWO record in the passenger seat zipper compartment?
Thanks,
Andy
