I am all ears if you can shed any additional information or suspicions. Move things around and have not located my DMV registration to check their number. Until I learn different I will go with the DOD number for the frame tag. Jim
Bit confusing here :?:

Frame tag....... alloy plate riveted to LHS inner frame reinforcing plate at front bumper

Body number..... stamped into the LH toe board gusset near steering box

DOD............... "date of delivery" embossed into the nomenclature plate affixed to the dash panel of the slat jeep

Serial number ....(matches frame tag) embossed into the nomenclature plate

I agree with Jim... we need to see a photo of the dash nomenclature plate as the frame number and DOD as stated don't seem to fit the time frame.

If it is an original... we can go from there.

Jim, can you post a photo of the dash plate? You can email me the photo and I can post it for you if that would help.

Hey everyone, I have been a little busy and not looked at the postings here. I see that many of you have jumped in to help each other and me. I appreciate that. I think I am going with the 12/17 date. I am still looking for the toe board number that would work but the number that Mike suggested in the 5800 range was along the lines of my first guess. I might have a toe board with something in that range in the stash somewhere. I know I have one in the 11xxx range. I will look again.

I have been busy playing with front and rear ends for this slat project and finished them today so now it is time to hang them to the frame. Since I couldn't justify purchasing a early front end, I am stuck with a later one but my rear end is GOOOoood! 11/41.

Here is a photo of the project me and my friends have been playing with when they (I'm) not working on the Slat project. The winch combo with the Tandem Towbar is sweet. I think I will add at least a winch to one of my WILLYS jeeps and maybe both. They are so cool. Even if you don't pull anything or try to extract yourself from a ditch or bog, they are so cool to watch. It reminds me of my first ride on the merry-go-round at the old Fleishacker Zoo in SF when I was a little boy. Round and round and round…you get the picture.. :P

How about the carousel at Playland At The Beach? Laughing Sal?

Even better was the "Fun House" where you could go down the big slide on a burlap bag all day long or...try to ride out the rest of the kids on the rotating flat disc that sped up the longer you stayed on it....my first introduction to "Gee Forces"...

them wuz the daze...
