B-Pillar Pads
I am looking for a pair of the black pads from the b-pillar where you would hit your head. I assume there is a newer version that isn't in the manual. The normal pads do not reach the lower 2 mounting holes on the black pillar blocks. Maybe an 1" short. The newer model will also have larger holes at the bottom. They should be for any m1151/52/65 with the aluminum roof.
Or maybe someone could remove one and look for a part number?

Re: B-Pillar Pads
M11xx uses the same old pad...there is a clip that screws into the B-pillar to retain the bottom of the pad.

Re: B-Pillar Pads
It can;t use the small clip plate on the m11xx's, because of the black b-pillar blocks. The black blocks already have 2 nutserts about an inch from the holes in the pad. after the pad is bolted to the roof.Retired War Horses wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 7:20 amM11xx uses the same old pad...there is a clip that screws into the B-pillar to retain the bottom of the pad.
Also, the pads have a lip that curves around the back of the normal b-pillar. That would need to be trimmed off for a 2-man hardtop, both steel top and aluminum top.

Re: B-Pillar Pads
No, maybe I got bad b-pillar blocks from 2 sources. How do your pads use the retaining plate at the bottom? The black b-pillar blocks are not open like the old b-pillars.Retired War Horses wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 7:09 amSo my factory M1165A1 was assembled wrong at the factory....ok, lol
OM your number, and I can send a couple pics of mine.
the bottom of the pad does not reach the 2 nutserts shown in this pic. Almost an inch away after the big top bolt os put in. If the pad did reach, it would also need the 2 screw holes enlarged to fit bolts for the b-pillar..

Re: B-Pillar Pads
Maybe I should have started with
What bolts to the 2 threaded holes on the inside top of the b-pillar blocks?
The only pads i see in the 2009 TM are 12342955 and 12342954, with UOC of XBB.
The part number is printed on the back side if anyone has one loose from an aluminum roof setup...

Re: B-Pillar Pads
Someone took the time to help me with this...
The pad on a factory m1152 is different than the old style pads. There is an "L" at the end of the part number. The back edge "hook" of the pad has been cut off. The top mounting hole has been made almost twice as long to allow the pad to move front to back. I will try to get some pics posted this week. The rear edge of the pad gets cut off, because the m1152 rear wall is in the way.

Here is what the newer pads look like. The top hole is alongated to allow the pad to move forward, and the back edge has been cut off.

6019630 is the pad retainer used with the aluminum roof's black b-pillar blocks.
