m1151 heavy armor tailgate

Does anyone know if the standard tailgate on the heavy m1151’s had the extra plate that just held down an axe on the interior side? Or was it simply a flat piece of metal?

Most of the ones I’ve seen had the thick armor with max ax. There’s at least 2 different thickness tailgate armor. I have multiple used ones and NOS tailgate armor
