12460116 relay test

Post by jssfire » Wed Dec 07, 2022 6:19 am

We have a 1997 A2 has trans in limp mode.
Wanting to test the trans control relay. I know there is a 24v side(wires 1 and 2 ) and a 12v side(wires 3 and 4). I just need to know what values I should see on a meter for a good test.
Mine are 24v- 3.4 at 200u
12v- 3.3 at 200ohms
Not sure if those are even the right test or not.
Would love to narrow my limp mode down to the relay. This is on our city fire dept vehicle. Someone thought they would be nice and cut all the not needed "military communications " wires and boxes out of the way.
Well those were the trans relay, circuit breaker, and TCM.
Oops my bad!
I think I have all the wires figured out. Just 4 that went over trans to the battery side were cut. Now still in limp mode. Trans light stays on even with switch off. Runs back battery down. Haven't pulled codes yet. Was hoping it was just the relay.
