Questions on M1097R1

Post by zoro » Mon Dec 05, 2022 9:56 pm

Been seeing a lot of M1097R1’s for auction lately. Have tried searching but can’t seem to find much info. What exactly are they are how are they different than other models? What drivetrain should they have? I have seen a few listings for them in the 2004-2009 range but the pictures appear to show a 3 speed trans and no park on the shifter.

So basically the M1097R1 was never a factory truck. They were for the most part, M1097/M1097A1 trucks that were rebuilt by National Guard units during the War on Terrorism. There is no way to know what was replaced or why or what was updated to newer standards. Most are going to be 3 speed trucks. I have personally seen 2 of them side by side in my old unit and 1 had a 3 speed, and 1 had a 4 speed, both tagged as M1097R1's.
Just look over the pics carefully and roll the dice.
