gpk ring bearing question
Hey i'm new here. I think I have gotten in a little over my head. I was thinking about doing a custom job and bought a gpk armor kit before researching everything that goes into building a turret. I am working on finding a ring bearing right now. My question is what hmmwv ring bearing will hold the weight of a gpk. Will the 10xx series work or does it have to be an 11xx series. also are there suggestions of other models of ring bearing that could be modified but would still hold the weight.

Re: gpk ring bearing question
Hi,
So a better question to start with is what model of truck do you have?
The black M10xx will hold the weight of the GPK in a M10xx series truck.
Any of M11xx bearings will work with the GPK, but you need to make sure that you have the adapter ring on the roof. And if you have the armor overlay then you need a spacer ring as well.
Hopefully this helps a little.

Tell me what truck and roof you have.
I can tell what is the best option, as I have or had about every turret for a Hmmwv.

Re: gpk ring bearing question
Thanks for the help. This answered my question. I had been told a 10xx ring of any kind wouldn't hold the weight but it sounds like a black 10xx ring with the correct support structure will hold the weight. Thank both of you so much.

It’s not just the turret bearing, but you need the flat tray to mount a real GPK.

Re: gpk ring bearing question
That is a lite duty bearing....and can work with GPK if you have all the other turret parts.....one of which goes on top of that bearing....It is un-ubtainable by itself { 13015440 }.
