TEMPERATURE GAUGE READING

My Humvee runs up to 240* on the gauge when the GPC is plugged in. When I unplug the GPC the engine runs 180*-220*. I thought about buying a digital heat gun to measure the actual temp. I am assuming that my GPC causes the gauge to read incorrectly?

The temp gauge sensor for the gauge is located on the left side of the block behing the alternator but has nothing to do with the GPC. The temp sensor for the cooling fan is located on the crossover manifold but it only talks to the TDR. Both the sensor and the GPC get their power from pin A in the engine connector of the control box so something could be happening there. This is in trucks that have a GPC. Later trucks have another temp sensor where the old GPC used to mount. It all depends on which control box you have installed.

He probably un-plugged the time delay module.
