This might be specific to the heavy armored m1151’s I’m not sure. I have the back plate for the inner side used with the wedge pieces for c pillar armor area against sponson. You can see where the rivet is painted over but on the inside it sticks out. I assume this rivet is normally drilled out then to make way for the back plate?

I assume most haven’t used the back plate. I ended up knocking out the rivet, just drilled out the exterior a bit then used a punch to knock it out. Came out easy and clean. Then used the back plate as designed.
