Knockout Windows with Tach
Has anyone seen a HMMWV with both knockout windshields and the high mount tach?
The handle will barely clear the tach housing. I was looking online to see where the wiring gets routed, and every new truck i find with those windows does not have a tach. Even some with fixed windows don't have the tach.

I see you kept the standard wiper motor bracket. What is that between the striker plate and the a/c duct?Hell On Wheels wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 7:33 amwell mines is not a "uncle sam / DLA" issued but more like a gypsy version.

Yes and I tucked the wire in the middle it allows about 1/2 clearance from the handle and motor

I mean, what is attached to the center of the windshield frame above the a/c duct? It looks like a knob and wires.

Thanks Ted, yes a RAM mount. I was getting crazy mounting my FCB2 screen in different locations. Sometimes from the upper window frame and center pillar. In this picture you can see the first location for the screen. At the time I was using a small RAM mount for my coffee cup. Then tried the screen it wasn't a good idea. Crazy right
The cables are my Garmin crash cam and iPhone cables. The bracket attached to the RPM odometer housing is a iPhone bracket used when recording drive clips. Along with crash cam.

Speaking of knockout windows...lol
Has anyone removed a window from the frame?
I just bought a Dewalt oscillating tool, but had to order sealant blades to try and cut it out. A razor blade was taking too long. I am going to remove the poly and see how that works out. I have a 1/2 delaminated roller window. The TPU under the poly seems to peel off easily in one piece to reveal the crystal clear glass under it.
FYI, if you are interested in the 20v Dewalt tool. It is $150 for the tool by itself at Lowe's. BUT, they have a set on sale. You can get the tool, a battery, battery charger, storage bag, and a couple blades for $99 in store or online. The shelf sticker was still $179, but it rang up $99 as shown on the website. The battery and charger alone would be over $99. dcs356c1
