Safety Items

Why do so many people remove reflectors from the HMMWV then sell the trucks? I see them pop up every week. I don't know why this bugs me so much. The HMMWV lamps have no reflective property in them. It is probably a requirement in all 50 states to have some sort of reflective device on the sides and rear of a road driven vehicle.

Isn't it a contradiction having reflectors on a camoflauged truck? But them again the military puts navigation lights on stealth aircraft!
