15.5k GVWR Humvees

Post by metalman » Sat Apr 03, 2021 12:26 pm

Does anybody know anything about the 15.k GVWR humvees that are coming out? I looked at the springs on a few and they didn't look too big.

What if anything has been upgraded or beefed up to get the heavier rating?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wondered the same thing. I think they are pre-REV trucks also, which may have been 11,300 to begin with?

I once found variable rate springs that were heavier and thicker than regular variables...years ago.

I looked at pics of the springs Greg and some of them look super skinny, like 998 springs, makes no sense. I'm planning to buy one of these and really want to know if anything has been changed to get to 15.5 or if they just slapped a different data plate on it.

Well, we know it isn't an AMG data plate.....
Reminds me of the m1101 vs m1102. different data plates on the exact same trailer.

Like the 1992 M998 truck with speedo showing 528 miles and it's April 1, 2021.
