V-Belt Turbo ?
I have seen N/A with the serpentine belt, but this is the first time I have seen a v-belt 6.5 turbo motor. This is a $50k truck on epay. I am just getting lost somewhere in these pics. It still has the original 3=piece cooling stack and missing some small parts. I wonder if they bothered to change the water pump and backing plate, or just threw on some parts they had in a box.
My question is, have any of you ever seen a v-belt 6.5 turbo motor in a HMMWV?
So.....smaller radiator, 2 armor hood grills, and a non-HO water pump (or a backwards HO). this will probably stay hot.

The pics are of the same engine from the listing. The first pic shows the top of the engine to see that it is a turbo . The second pic is to show that it has v-belts. I am not questioning the actual turbo, but the entire engine.

I've never seen it done that way. Very strange.

Re: V-Belt Turbo ?
Probably an engine swap using all the parts that were on the original upgraded original engine. Should work, but it won't be a High Output water pump, but as long as it is not in a super hot place and or loaded heavy and driven hard should be OK. Maybe even then the fan will just run full time and it will still be OK. Converting or having a Serpentine Belt Setup is just so nice. Automatic tensioning and no belts flapping around at idle. Hated it every time I sold a truck with a Serp Setup, but I still sold them. LOL

Obviously AMG didn't make them, because the turbo parts weren't handy in the late 80's. Who knows. lolI bought this truck from govplanet with that set up in it I was told they made 50 HMMWVS like this to go overseas somewhere

Re: V-Belt Turbo ?
Around 8yrs ago, I replaced my busted NA engine with a turbo engine, and the NA had a new HO V-belt water pump from Penninsular diesel at the time, plus buying all the SERP belt parts & pieces were a PIA and spendy so I just swapped all my ‘newish’ old motor parts to my new build. Ran great. (Arizona)
But with the new performance built 6.5 turbo I have now, I converted to a SERP belt setup... (inclusive of water pump, fan, brackets , pulleys , etc) which was a PIA and darn spendy haha.
