Anyone know how many shims I need at each location for the heavy truck to get a proper stance at the wheels? I plan to build the truck up with the multi layer and thick armor. Doors too if I can get my hands on a set. Will weight of doors make a difference on shims? I plan to use flat Xdoors until I can source heavy doors. Also do I use all shims as pictured below? Or a combo of those styles and the other rectangular ones with 4 holes?

You should build the entire thing then take to alihnment shop for check. The TM states what thickness shim will change degrees for caster and camber. Do all adjustments yourself,, then take back for check again and have the toe set.

Guessing here... Two many variables. Weight, springs, any tweaks in frame, bushings, control arm, etc. and when ALL done what's your daily cuz weight going to be?

Here's what I do know... M998 helmet top, Rhino carrier, tire. full fuel, empty bed. To get it to set on the ground (camber) and look and roll right I had to pull ten pounds out leaving 2 thick and 1 thin each side. Interaction with caster and shims with some add - subtract on the front of arms to hit the castor. Then toe it with the tie rods / radius arms. No more "pigeon toed" HumV.

Took a few hours to dial in the rear, few up front... in the driveway. Road test...Tire wear and handling 300% improvement, CAMO

My 1165 REV weighs in around 10,000 lbs and has 2 thick shims in the rear at each location and the front might only have 1 thick shim at each location. Regardless, it is at least a good place to start. Your results may vary.
