Torque specs--cover on m998 fuel tank

Torque specs--cover on m998 fuel tank
Hi--got a new tank and all new hardware to put it together---What is the torque spec for the 12 bolts that fasten the metal cover on top of the fuel tank--should I also use rtv sealant---Thanks George

I have never noticed a torque spec for those. Maybe because of the soft seal that is used. I tighten evenly around until I feel the torque needed to tighten go up quickly. I then check them after a few days a couple of times and tighten one flat each time maybe, then install the tank after I feel no more need to tighten after sitting for two more days. Takes time, but if your body is not lifted, you can't get to all the nuts to re tighten them if you have a leak when the tank is full, even with the A2 Access Panel.
