HMMWV Intake Snorkel Deep Water Fording kit

I have the snorkel/intake and 90 degree rubber boot. When installed there is a gap if I do not use the air assembly shield, is this normal, thanks

When installed, does the snorkel bracket high enough to reach the mounting holes in the winshield frame?

Yes, they line up. In the TM it shows a snorkel with a 90 coupler and one with a straight coupler. Thanks

Two types...long one with a little bracket at bottom uses the 90 degree elbow.
Shorter tube with no little bracket on bottom uses straight rubber hose which attaches to the non-fording air inlet that
the cap would attach to with hose clamp.
Shorter tube with hose on bottom are on Up-armored heavy trucks that don't go into deep water.
