If it’s the OEM Tach and Installed correctly, it has a lamp in it, part of the wiring to the dash gauges is to tap off
the instrument Panel lamp.

Wired correctly it has a light per the instructions
Is this the Tach with the cannon plug or the Tach with the 4 spade tips?

Ha, the truck I looked at for comparison has the Tach for the dog house in the bracket for the windshield....thus mine has the
Light. I haven’t check the cannon plug version as of yet.

the only thing on the back of my w/s mounted tach is the screw connector for the harness and 2 studs for the mount brace. IIRC

There may be a way to install an LED Light strip behind the glass. Gauge services change the lenses all the time and have a tool for clamping the new Bezel.

That would be a good idea. Have you attempted?

No Robert, I have not. I have a Tach with a scratched lense and it does look like there is some room in there, but I'd hate to mangle the bezel only to find out that lighting can't be added. I guess it is time to call some Gauge restoration places.
