Different turret locks?

Post by night9 » Mon Feb 11, 2019 4:23 pm

Just started installing the GMV parts I bought from @Thesaint025 and I'm stuck at the turret lock. First it doesn't line up to engage the lock ring and I also don't think the holes line up anywhere on the turret ring. Are there different revisions of it?

The lock needs to attach to the inner rotating part of the bearing assy. There are lots of holes in the bearing and almost all of them hold one or two things in place. The weapons tray above and support items, lid latches, turret lock and sling seat loops. I first place the Support "K Bracket" and the first few bolts of the tray, then start adding items and through bolts. There are curved shims to make the lock line up perfectly, but you can use washers to do the same thing.

I understand the lining up the bolts part through tray k bar etc. I'm holding the lock against the rotating part of the bearing. When its flush against that the locking pin doesn't line up with the lock ring it's too low.

Bingo!!
Smooth sailing on the rest of it.
If I remember correctly there is a shim that goes between the lock and the bearing. At least My old set up used one.

There are thick and thin shims.
Washers work if you have no shims.
